The New Nylgut® is Aquila's patented string material, made from a unique plastic blend, unlike traditional Nylon or Carbon (Fluorocarbon). It absorbs very little moisture, just 0.1% compared to Nylon's 2%, which helps it stay in tune better. With a density similar to natural gut, it produces a richer sound than Nylon and avoids the metallic tone of Carbon strings. The New Nylgut® offers a sound close to genuine gut strings, accurate fret intonation, and stable tuning even with changes in humidity.
